You bought your Lamborghini for its performance. Unfortunately, the engine has been performing poorly lately. It sputters and you have difficulty picking up speed. You also have problems maintaining speed. This is a sign that the Lamborghini’s fuel system is clogged and in desperate need of service. Generally, the service should be done every 30,000 miles.
Hard/No Starts
Another sign that the Lamborghini needs the fuel system cleaned and a new fuel filter is difficulty starting the sports car. It makes sense that you will have problems getting the engine started because the fuel may get stuck behind the system clog. This means you will not have enough fuel in the engine to generate combustion, which is needed to get the vehicle started.
Misfiring Engine
As we mentioned above, you will have engine performance problems with the Lamborghini if the fuel filter or fuel system is clogged. This includes the engine misfiring constantly. One thing that can happen if there is not enough fuel heading into the engine is one or more of the cylinders may not fire. This means, literally, that your Lamborghini is not firing on all cylinders.
Roughness/Stalling
When this happens, there will be a roughness to the idle and the engine may stall frequently. If the clog in the fuel system gets worse, the engine may stall and you may be unable to get it restarted. Again, servicing the Lamborghini’s fuel system every 30,000 miles prevents these problems from happening. If you are overdue for a fuel service, call our shop for a service appointment.
Fuel Pump Failure
The reason why this is important is the fuel pump can fail if the fuel filter or fuel system is clogged. The reason why is that the fuel pump motor works harder than it is designed to work in order to get the fuel through the clog. Consequently, you may start to hear whining noises coming from the fuel tank as the motor struggles. If left unchecked, the fuel pump motor could die completely.
When this happens, the fuel will no longer be drawn from the tank and pushed into the engine. Consequently, you will be stranded with a dead engine that you cannot start. Unfortunately, the only way to resolve the problem is to replace the fuel pump and remove the clog in the fuel system. Thankfully, this may be something as easy as replacing the fuel filter.
Again, call us today if it has been over 30,000 miles since you’ve had your Lamborghini’s fuel system serviced.
